FLSmidth presents ambitious digitalization strategy in 360° video
FLSmidth is launching their new global strategy, for how the company aims to internally lift its business digitally. The strategy involves all employees globally, and the purpose is not just to inform about the strategy, but at the same time to create an understanding for the individual employees own role and evolution in this transformation.
Through dialogs between FLSmidth and Virsabi regarding virtual reality’s potential in communicating in new more involving and cognitive stimulating ways, a decision was made to make a 360° video solution, to communicate the digitalization project. The experience was first to be launched at an internal summit, where the digitalization project would be presented. Virtual Reality is the perfect medium to use, seeing as it represented many of the technologies that are expected to influence FLSmidth’s adaptation to new technology in the future. Apart from the fact that virtual reality has an ability to communicate through unmatched immersion, the decision to use VR as a medium to communicate the new strategy also had a symbolic meaning.
An effecient process with good results
Virsabi took the wheel and established the framework for the process. We initiated initiatives in relation to the case-description, arranged locations visits and completed the 360° video recordings, where Virsabi was responsible for directing as well as administrating the technical aspect.
After completing post-production and the following approval flow, the film was published on FLSmidth’s private YouTube channel. FLSmidth’s ambition to create a story explaining the strategy was considered highly successful.
