VR training
We need more than both hands to count the number of times we have seen or heard about VR headsets that ended up in a cabinet to die a slow death next to the telefax and the rolodex. Not because the technology is obsolete, but due to lack of content and technical hassles of getting the headsets to work.
Well, sound the trumpets, we have a fix.
Like most great solutions, it is simple. Uh – and like the best of the best solutions, it comes in a flightcase.
Book – receive – return
If you know us, you have heard about The Experience, the award-winning VR training experience we continue to develop with Carlsberg. Otherwise bookmark this for later.
When bars and restaurants want to train their staff, they do not need to buy a VR headset, and they do not need any prior knowledge about VR to start using The Experience. They book The Experience through Carlsberg’s online customer portal and then they receive a specially designed flightcase containing a headset and a few accessories to get the most of the experience. After ten days, a courier picks up the flightcase and returns it to Carlsberg.
Bigger is better
Together with Danish Shipping, we have developed a similar solution to cater to their target audience of students. Only this flightcase is even cooler than the Carlsberg one as it contains ten headsets. It is heavy, but it just looks so awesome when you open it. All headsets can be charged while in the flightcase, and it also contains a recharger for AA-batteries for the controllers and a few other goodies.
The flightcases solve the problem of having VR headsets end up in cabinets by only having access to them when needed.
No tech support, no problem
We also introduced a simple solution for making the experiences easy to use for non-tech audiences. We put them in kiosk mode.
If you are tech savvy, booting up a Meta Quest headset is not that big of a problem, and of course you can fairly easily find your way through the menu, get it online, set up a guardian, download the app and get going. But if you are not, you probably got lost somewhere in the prior sentence.
With the headsets being in kiosk mode upon arrival, all you need is to hit the on/off button, follow the instructions to set up the safety guardian zone and you are up and running.
We very much believe in the power of VR to boost training and onboarding, and to spark interest in new areas of work or business for students. These two examples are underlining that with simple solutions, we have overcome some of the large barriers for unleashing that power.
